This year, as we have in the past, our churches will gather to support the HOPE Program (Homeless Outreach Program for Education) at Mt. Diablo School District
The HOPE program, which relies on public support, benefits the more than 430 children enrolled in Mt. Diablo District Schools whose families, or they themselves, have no permanent residence. Ages of the children range from 4 through 18.
For the holiday season HOPE is asking for gift cards, in denominations of $25 or $50, from places where kids can purchase something just for themselves. Suggestions include:
Please use a Sharpie to mark any cards you are donating with amounts so recipients know how much is available for them to spend. Tax-deductible cash donations are also welcome; Please make checks payable to MDUSD HOPE.
For 3 Sundays in November, beginning on the 10th, we will place our cards and/or checks in the offertory during our services. On Sunday, December 1st Rev. Amanda will bless all of the gifts. They will be delivered to the HOPE office the next day.
